Information is power. This software suite is intended to assist in purchasing and collecting gold and silver bullion by providing relevant information    regarding the current market value of those metals before a purchase is made. “Assist” is the operative word here. When properly used, this software should give you the information needed to make wise bullion purchases but those choices are ultimately yours to make. I created this software to use myself (and I do nearly every day), so I can tell you that it works well for its intended purpose. This software has a lot of options, but it is actually quite easy to get started. You will be able to determine quickly and easily which deals are good and which are not!

The Purchasing Module and the Holdings Module may operate independent of each other. Both the Purchasing Module and the Holdings Module require the Support Module to be located in the same location on your computer and open for full functionality.

Support Module
The Support Module contains information used by both the Purchasing Module and the Holdings Module.
The Support Module is where you enter the current spot prices for gold and silver each day. You can choose how you would like this spot price information used by Bullion Investments. Spot price information  will also be charted automatically on the Spot Charts tab.
This module also contains the information about a variety of silver coins used throughout Bullion Investments. At the time of this writing, this list contains pertinent information for 748 categories of silver coins from 64 countries. It is important to note this is not a complete list! There are many thousands of silver coins that have been issued from nearly every country that has ever existed. This list merely represents some of the major categories of silver coins in which I have a recent interest. I will continue to expand this list and will send out updates as needed. Nearly all the information listed here has been gleaned from well-known numismatic publications and formatted for my purposes.
When opened, this module automatically downloads the latest currency exchange information from x-rates.com. This information is used by the Purchasing Module when buying items in selected non-US currencies.
The Purchasing Module is used to enter information about potential purchases. It will calculate the current value of the item(s) available for purchase based on the category of each selected item as well as the information you provide regarding charges for shipping/handling and taxes.
Important Notes
The Bullion Investments: Support Module file must be in the same physical location on your computer and open for the features of this tab to function properly.
You will only be able to enter information in the cells with a green background. All other cells are locked for editing to prevent accidental changes to important settings or formulas.
This module contains separate tabs for common US silver coins and all other silver coins (generated from the list in the Support Module).
There is also a Calculators tab included in this module that will allow quick calculations for custom quantities of gold and silver bullion by different units of measurement. It will also display the current value of different pre-defined fractional quantities of gold and silver bullion. Along the bottom left of this tab, there is a calculator that will determine the actual silver weight (ASW) or actual gold weight (AGW) based on the weight (in grams) and the purity. There is also a calculator that will determine the weight (in grams) of an item based on the ASW / AGW and the purity.    The Calculators tab  will also allow you enter a bid increment and current bid amount to show the current bid structure options. When you enter your bid information on the right hand side, the calculator will give you information comparing the total cost to the current value. The default currency listed for these calculations is the “United States Dollar”. To switch to a different currency, select the desired option from the drop-down menu in that cell.
Finally, this module contains a Conversions tab that allows quick conversion between some common mass units used for bullion. Simply enter the value for the known mass unit and it will automatically convert that number to its equivalent in all other units listed. For your convenience, you have the option to copy and paste the converted units into some other application.

The Holdings Module is used to store information about your gold and silver purchases.

There are a number of pre-defined gold bullion coin types and sizes included in the Gold (Count) tab. There is also a column for entering information regarding  other gold bullion and raw gold samples. The top row (in yellow) is used to enter any gold bullion that is already part of your inventory prior to making purchases and recording that information with Bullion Investments.
There are a number of pre-defined US silver bullion coin types included in the US Silver Coins (Count) tab. There is also a column for entering information regarding other silver bullion. Unlike the Bullion Investments: Holdings Module | Gold (Count) Tab, I have not included all the pre-defined silver bullion coin types because there are simply too many options with varying degrees of purity to list here. The top row (in yellow) is used to enter any silver bullion that is already part of your inventory prior to making purchases and recording that information with Bullion Investments.
The All Silver Coins tab is used to record and display information regarding your silver bullion holdings from all the coins listed in the Bullion Investments: Support Module | Coin List tab.
The All Silver Coins (PivotTable) tab was created because there are so many different silver coin types and sizes that I found it helpful to track my inventory from the Bullion Investments: Holdings Module | All Silver Coins (Count) using a PivotTable. You can arrange this PivotTable any way you like, but the default is to group by fineness first, then by category and year-mint. The total numbers of coins in each category are listed along with subtotals for both ASW and current value. A grand total is also included for the number of coins, ASW, and current value.
Finally, the Holdings  tab presents a summary of your gold and silver bullion holdings calculated from the Bullion Investments: Holdings Module | Gold (Count), All Silver Coins (Count), Bullion Investments: Holdings Module | US Silver Coins (Count), and Bullion Investments: Holdings Module | All Silver Coins (Count) tabs according to the current spot prices.

This software suite requires a fully-functioning version of Microsoft Excel 2007 (or higher) to operate.
A working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required to effectively use this software.
A connection to the Internet is required to update the currency exchange rates.
The documentation file requires Adobe Reader 7.0 (or higher).
